At the SA Nationals State Conference in late July delegates voted to - "condemn the state government for the recently announced ban, by proclamation, on all bow hunting in the state and, adopts as policy the reinstatement of bow hunting, particularly as it relates to feral animals."
This is yet another move by a Labor government to interfere in the past-times, pursuits or industry of rural people without evidence based decision making. Bow hunting is a skills based pastime that effectively reduces the impact of pest species on the landscape while also being good for regional economies. Skills based, ethical hunting, whether by bow or rifle, should be encouraged and supported.
It's time Labor started supporting regional past-times and industry instead of trying to appease a small minority of people that aren't personally affected by their decisions.
