Peter Borda is a devoted family man and passionate advocate for regional South Australia, proudly endorsed by The Nationals to contest the federal seat of Grey.

As a 40 year old South Australian with generational family connections to Port Lincoln and the broader Eyre Peninsula, the regions have been a focal point in his family history dating back to George North, one of the regions pioneering farmers.

With 14 years of marriage to his wife Joanne, a local  to Whyalla , their three children, and three foster children, Peter's family values are at the very core of who he is. As a foster carer, he has tirelessly advocated for the best possible outcomes for his foster children, demonstrating his commitment to protecting and caring for those who need it most.

This experience has not only shaped Peter's perspective but also fueled his desire to extend his support to the wider regional community. He is eager to bring his fresh and enthusiastic approach to Canberra, prioritizing listening to the regional voices he represents and amplifying their message. Peter believes that regional South Australia deserves a stable and balanced voice, which he is dedicated to bringing to the position.

As an Elected Member and the current Deputy Mayor of Whyalla, Peter is already listening to and collaborating with the local community, working together on solutions to regional challenges and ways to maximise the opportunities presented by State and Federal Government along with private sector investment interest.

Prior to his time in local government Peter spent over a decade assisting national and multinational businesses expand their retail and commercial interests in South Australia through his work as a corporate leasing agent.

Along with his tertiary qualifications in business and over a decade of real world experience in the corporate sector, Peter launched his own small business in 2016 which still operates today on the Main Street in Whyalla, helping clients from all across the region with mental health.

As a proud member of The Nationals, Peter resonates deeply with the party's values, particularly the emphasis on family as the cornerstone of a thriving society. He also strongly supports the party's focus on decentralized services, ensuring that regional communities have access to comprehensive healthcare services, from birth to death. This approach, Peter believes, is essential for making regional areas attractive to young families and fostering economic growth.

These services will be crucial to the attraction and retention of the people who will assist the existing workforce to bring to life the many infrastructure and industrial projects planned for our region over the coming years.

Peter's commitment to balanced economic development is unwavering. He recognizes the importance of weighing the costs and benefits of different approaches, making informed decisions based on merit, and keeping the needs of regional South Australia as the highest priority.

With his strong family values, advocacy experience, and commitment to regional development, Peter Borda is an exceptional candidate for the federal seat of Grey. His dedication to giving regional South Australia a strong voice in Canberra makes him an ideal representative for the communities that call regional SA their home.
